The National Examinations Council has announced the release of the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination results for internal candidates.

Speaking at a press briefing in Minna, Niger State, on Thursday, September 19, NECO’s Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, revealed that 21 supervisors from 12 states have been blacklisted for their involvement in various forms of examination malpractice.

The infractions included aiding cheating, poor supervision, negligence, extortion, and even drunkenness.

Wushishi further disclosed that one school in Ekiti State had been de-recognized after being found guilty of mass cheating in two core subjects and one science subject.

“These supervisors compromised the integrity of the exam process, and their actions cannot go unpunished,” Wushishi stated.

Additionally, 40 schools across 17 states were implicated in whole-school mass cheating.

“The schools involved will be summoned to the Council for discussions, after which appropriate sanctions will follow,” Wushishi added.

NECO remains committed to upholding the standards of its examinations and ensuring the sanctity of the assessment process.
