The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Kaduna State has reported the successful arrest of 90 suspects and the dismantling of 13 illicit drug joints in the state in November.

The State Commander of NDLEA, Mr. Samaila Danmallam, shared this information with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday, highlighting the agency’s commitment to combating drug-related offenses in the region.

Danmallam revealed that, during the operations conducted in November, the NDLEA seized a total of 478.038 kilograms of various illicit substances. Of the 90 suspects apprehended, 85 were males, and five were females.

He emphasized the continuous efforts of the command in drug demand reduction through advocacy and sensitization programs conducted across the state.

These initiatives aim to educate the public about the negative consequences of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

In a plea to parents, Danmallam urged them to remain vigilant and keep a watchful eye on their wards.

He stressed the importance of proactive measures and called for the collaboration of the community in providing useful and timely information.

“The fight against illicit drug trafficking and consumption should be a collective responsibility,” stated the commander.
