Ndidi scores, Lookman assists as Leicester trash Randers 4-1

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, was on target on Thursday night as Leicester City strolled past Danish club Randers FC in the first leg of their Europa Conference League round of 16 clash.

The Nigerian international opened the scoring for Brendan Rodgers’s side after 23 minutes of play at the King Power Stadium, however, the visitors restored parity before the break.

Another Nigerian international and former Manchester United academy star, Tosin Kehinde, assisted Vito Hammershøy-Mistrati to score the equaliser in the 45th-minute.

Leicester, who were in search of their second win of the year 2022 in all competitions since their January 8th victory over struggling Watford managed to survive the scare when they resumed play.

The Foxes returned gun-blazing in the second half and regained their lead after four minutes through Harvey Barnes, before Zambian striker, Patson Daka before, made it 3-1in the 54th-minute.

Rodgers’ side wrapped up the comfortable victory with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall 74th-minute goal, thanks to an assist from Super Eagles new boy, Ademola Lookman.

WuzupNigeria reported that FIFA approved Lookman’s request to switch nationality from England to Nigeria.

The high-flying winger has already held a meeting with the Nigeria Football Federation’s president, Amaju Pinnick, coach Augustine Eguavoen, amongst others, ahead of next month’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier playoff against Ghana.
