NCDC confirms new COVID-19 variant in Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, has announced additional 105 COVID-19 infections as it detected three of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in the country.
The NCDC gave the figures in its daily COVID-19 report on Wednesday in Abuja.
The Centre warned that Nigeria was at risk of registering high incidences of the new variant due to neglect of preventive measures at airports and other points of entry in the country.
The 105 additional cases reported on Tuesday is an increase from the 21 cases reported in the country the previous day.
