The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has officially granted Air Algérie a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit, allowing the Algerian national airline to expand its flights into Nigeria.
The NCAA announced this on Wednesday through its official X account, stating that the permit would improve air travel between Nigeria and Algeria while strengthening economic and diplomatic ties.
As part of this agreement, Air Algérie has also received approval for a new flight route connecting Algeria, Nigeria, and Douala in Cameroon. This route is expected to improve regional travel between West and North Africa.
“A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit to Air Algérie, the national airline of Algeria, enabling expanded connectivity, fostering economic ties, and strengthening mutual partnership,” the NCAA said in its statement.
The inaugural flight on this new route is scheduled to take off on April 6, 2025, marking a major milestone in the growing aviation relationship between both nations.
