Prominent gospel musician and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has publicly denounced Joy of Salvation Ministry International Inc in Kaduna State for using his image and name to promote a religious programme without his permission.

In a video statement posted on his social media platforms, Bassey expressed shock and disappointment upon discovering that his picture was featured on billboards and flyers across Kaduna, falsely announcing his participation in an event.

“I just got word that a certain ministry… has got my picture on billboards all over Kaduna that I’ll be there alongside other ministers. I know nothing about that event. I’m also as shocked as you probably are after saying this,” Bassey stated clearly.

He strongly condemned the action, emphasising that such deceptive practices have no place in Christian ministry. “It’s interesting that people think this is the way to serve Jesus, but this is not the right way. We can’t handle things with underhanded methods. We can’t do this. This is not right. This is not right at all,” he said.

To set the record straight and prevent his followers from being misled, Bassey explicitly stated that he has no connection to the event. “Okay, so I won’t be there. I know nothing about that,” he affirmed.

The singer, known for hit songs like “Imela” and “Onise Iyanu,” attached the promotional flyer in question to his post to provide clarity and warn the public.
