Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, known as 2Face or 2Baba, has accused some members of his family of spreading false stories about his private life and putting his partner, Natasha, in danger.

The singer shared a video message on X.com late Thursday, saying the situation had become too serious for him to stay silent.

He said, “Good evening, this whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand and I’m not just going to be quiet anymore. I feel I have to say some facts here. I’m a grown man and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with.”

2Face said some of his relatives claim they are trying to protect him, but their actions have only caused harm and made Natasha a target of online attacks.

He said, “My family has, in trying to say they want to save me or say they want to help me, they have actually destroyed me, and you have killed somebody’s daughter’s character, because Natasha is getting death threats right now. Fine, we’ve had our quarrel, please tell me who doesn’t quarrel with their spouse?”

The singer added that rumours about his mental health were false, stressing that he had been active and performing recently.

He said, “I’m perfectly okay, I’m good, everybody has been seeing me out there. I did my show recently in Abuja, a whole lot of people were there. How can you say you’re trying to save somebody and then you’re messing my life up? This is unacceptable to me.”

He also said his current situation reminded him of past issues involving his wife, Annie Idibia, suggesting that some relatives had a habit of turning private disagreements into public drama.

He said, “My family did this with Annie, the same thing. We all have our differences, but this has become so dangerous right now. Natasha is getting death threats, they’ve ruined her whole life. In the name of saying you’re trying to save me, you’re destroying me and destroying another person’s life.”

2Face also accused former associates of spreading lies and trying to make him look unstable.

He said, “I’m deeply hurt by all that is going on right now. People I worked with before are fabricating so many lies. Painting me to be mentally unstable is equivalent to killing somebody.”

He added that he would soon reveal more about the issues he has kept quiet about for years.
