A lady, simply identified as Joy Mariam, has reportedly committed suicide in Abuja after her boyfriend dumped her.
WuzupNaija gathered that the graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Nassarawa State, swallowed poison after her boyfriend left her to marry another lady and informed her that he wants to focus on his home
Reports claimed Mariam, after drinking the poison, called one of her friends and revealed the action she took and the reasons.
Mariam was rushed to a hospital in Abuja where she eventually died. According to an inside report, after drinking the poison, Joy called a friend to reveal the action she just took.
WuzupNaija reports that the rate of suicides among students has skyrocketed in recent times.
On October 2, 2018, Chinedu Iromuanya, a National Diploma II student studying Public Administration Department at the Federal Polytechnic, Nassarawa attempted committing suicide by drinking ‘sniper’ insecticide.
Unlike Iromuanya, a student of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu State, simply identified as Desmond, died in September 2018 after swallowing a poisonous substance called Sniper.
Reports claimed Desmond killed himself over bad results.
