Nasarawa man slits Okada rider’s throat, steals bike
A suspected motorcycle thief, Ibrahim Isiaka, has been apprehended by the Nasarawa State Police Command following a disturbing incident in Masaka.
The arrest was executed by diligent police operatives from the Masaka Division, as detailed in a statement by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, on Thursday.
According to Nansel, Ibrahim Isiaka, a resident of Riverside in Masaka, allegedly colluded with another individual to carry out a robbery against a commercial motorcyclist.
The distressing incident unfolded when Isiaka boarded a commercial motorcycle with the intent of traveling to Bigmali along Jankanwa road in Masaka. However, during the journey, Isiaka reportedly launched a vicious attack on the motorcyclist using a knife, resulting in a severe throat laceration, before making off with the motorcycle.
Nansel described the harrowing event, stating, “While on transit, Ibrahim Isiaka used a knife and slit the throat of the commercial motorcyclist and snatched the motorcycle.”
Prompt action by the police led to the swift conveyance of the victim to the hospital, where he received urgent medical attention and is currently in stable condition, responding well to treatment.
Furthermore, an exhaustive search operation culminated in the successful arrest of the suspect, Ibrahim Isiaka, and the recovery of the stolen motorcycle. Efforts are underway to apprehend the other suspect who remains at large.
