Media personality and actress, Nancy Isime, has cautioned members of the public against dealing with individuals who claim to represent her in business negotiations or professional engagements without her approval.
Isime issued the warning in a public disclaimer shared on her Instagram page, where she disclosed that some individuals had allegedly been presenting themselves as her representatives without obtaining her consent.
She explained that the notice was necessary to remove any uncertainty over who has the legitimate authority to negotiate or enter into agreements on her behalf.
“My attention has been drawn to instances of certain persons purporting to act, negotiate or otherwise represent my interests without authority.
“This notice is therefore issued to clarify the position and avoid any misunderstanding,” She said.
The media personality specifically urged brands, agencies, corporate organisations, media companies, event organisers, producers, business partners and other stakeholders to be wary of anyone claiming to represent her without obtaining direct authorisation from her.
“The general public, including brands, agencies, corporate organisations, media organisations, event organisers, Producers, business partners and other stakeholders, are advised that no person or entity is authorised to represent, negotiate, contract, make commitments or otherwise act on my behalf unless expressly authorised by me,” she stated.
Isime further called on individuals and organisations interested in working with her to independently establish the authority of anyone claiming to be acting for her before proceeding with negotiations, agreements or financial transactions connected to her professional activities.
“All persons and organisations intending to engage with me are therefore advised to verify the authority of any person purporting to act on my behalf before entering any arrangement or making any payment in connection with my professional or commercial engagements,” she added.
She also provided guidance on how stakeholders can authenticate official engagements, directing them to her website and legal representatives for matters requiring formal commercial or legal coordination.
“For matters requiring formal legal or commercial coordination concerning me, stakeholders are advised to seek confirmation via my website and/or through my legal counsel, PUNUKA Attorneys & Solicitors,” she said.
The actress made it clear that she would pursue appropriate legal measures against individuals who carry out dealings or transactions using her identity without authorisation.
“I reserve all rights and remedies available to me in respect of any unauthorised representation, dealing, or transaction undertaken in my name or purportedly on my behalf,” she added.
