The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has delivered a message of hope, declaring that the days when the Nigerian currency, the naira, was stronger than the American dollar will return.

During a Sunday sermon titled ‘Uncommon Miracles’ at the church’s National Headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye shared his optimism about the future of the Nigerian currency.

He reminisced about experiencing extraordinary financial miracles as the church’s leader during his early days when the naira held more value and purchasing power than the dollar.

“When the naira was stronger than the dollar; don’t worry, those days will return,” Pastor Adeboye assured the congregation.

However, he noticed a reluctant response and quickly added, “Oh! I know you don’t believe me. If the Lord I serve is still on the throne, those glorious days will return.”

“Maybe when that happens, you will know that there is a God of miracles,” he concluded.

The naira’s exchange rate fluctuates between N915 and N918 to a dollar in the black market. In recent times, it has faced challenges in maintaining its value against the dollar and other foreign currencies. Many have speculated that it may eventually reach the milestone of N1,000 to a dollar.

The struggle of the naira against the dollar has had widespread implications, affecting businesses and the cost of living, particularly following the Federal Government’s removal of fuel subsidy.

Despite these challenges, Pastor Adeboye’s message seeks to instill hope and faith in the possibility of a brighter financial future for Nigeria.
