Naijashimadun has joined other Nigerian netizens in criticizing the N300,000 ticket price for Afrobeats star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, ahead of his highly anticipated homecoming concert in Lagos.
Speaking in Yoruba, Naijashimadun expressed his displeasure, questioning why Nigerians were expected to pay such an exorbitant fee just to see the singer perform.
He drew a comparison to past events, alleging that tickets to see the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, were priced below N10,000 during his lifetime.
The social media commentator also advised Asake to intervene and call the organizers to order, warning that the backlash would ultimately fall on the artist himself.
“How much did we use to see Michael Jackson when he was alive? It’s not up to 10,000. Even seeing Tinubu is not that expensive. Nigerians can’t pay N300,000 to come see Ahmed (Asake). We own Afrobeats; you can’t sell it at an expensive price to us. We own Ahmed. They can’t sell him to us for N300,000,” Naijashimadun said in the video.
