The Nigerian Air Force has announced the start of its Direct Short Service Commission recruitment for 2025, calling on qualified graduates and professionals across the country to apply.

In a post shared on its official X handle on Tuesday, the Force said the recruitment exercise, tagged DSSC 34/2025, will run from August 27 to October 7, 2025, and will be free of charge. Applications are to be submitted online through the portal nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.

According to the announcement, the exercise covers a wide range of fields, including engineering, medical services, and cyber operations, reflecting the Air Force’s growing need for professionals to tackle modern security challenges.

To qualify, candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth, between the ages of 20 and 32, and must hold at least a Second Class Upper degree along with an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter. Medical doctors, particularly consultants, are allowed to apply up to the age of 40.

The Air Force also noted that applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and meet its standard requirements. Men must not be less than 1.66 meters tall, while the height requirement for women is 1.63 meters.

“This recruitment exercise is strictly for new applicants. Serving personnel above 32 years of age are not eligible, except those who have served for at least 10 years, hold the rank of Corporal, and have a recommendation from their Commanding Officer,” the statement added.

The NAF said a zonal aptitude test will be conducted, and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the selection interview.
