The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed the successful elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their food storage facilities during airstrikes in Jubillaram, Tumbuns, in the Lake Chad Basin.
According to NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the air component of Operation Hadin Kai launched the strikes on November 23.
The operation targeted a terrorist hideout and a site serving as a key food storage hub. The location was linked to recent attacks, including the assault on troops in Kareto.
“Mop-up operations using cannons ensured the complete elimination of fleeing hostile elements,” Akinboyewa stated.
The strikes were based on extensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions conducted over several days.
These missions confirmed the presence of active terrorist structures, concealed under dense vegetation, within the area.
“The destruction of the terrorist enclave, including food storage facilities, severely disrupted their logistical operations, while the neutralization of a significant number of fighters diminished their capacity to launch future attacks,” he added.
The operation dealt a significant blow to the logistical and operational capabilities of the terrorists, reducing their ability to sustain future assaults.
Akinboyewa emphasized NAF’s determination to uphold national security and continue supporting ground forces.
“This mission underscores NAF’s resolve to safeguard national security and hold accountable those who undermine Nigeria’s stability,” he said.
The NAF reiterated its dedication to maintaining vigorous air campaigns, both independently and in coordination with other security agencies, to ensure peace and stability in the region.
