The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has extended the registration deadline for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination into technical colleges across Nigeria to May 31.

According to The Punch, the board also announced that the examination earlier scheduled for June 6 will now hold on June 13.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Benin by NABTEB’s Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, Mr Uchechukwu Olisah.

Olisah said the approval for the extension was granted by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr Aminu Mohammed.

He explained that the directive was communicated through an internal memorandum signed by the Director of Examinations Administration, Ms Chigoziem Metu.

“With this extension, the registration for the National Common Entrance Examination will close on Sunday, May 31, while the examination earlier scheduled for Saturday, June 6, will now hold on Saturday, June 13,” he said.

The board stated that the extension became necessary following requests from prospective candidates who needed additional time to complete their registration.

Olisah added that the registrar urged interested candidates and entrepreneurially inclined students seeking admission into technical colleges to take advantage of the extension and complete their registration before the new deadline.

The examination is conducted for admission into technical colleges across Nigeria.
