A Lagos-based content creator identified as Ella has said her repeated complaints about the shortage of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses appear to have drawn the attention of authorities, following what she described as a noticeable improvement on her route.

Ella, who has attracted significant attention online for sharing videos about her daily commute challenges, revealed that she was surprised to find several BRT buses stationed along the route she uses every morning on Thursday.

“Nigerians, my voice was heard. I was surprised to see buses lined up this morning in the lane I use every morning. I got a call from the commissioner for information and he told me buses will be provided and if they don’t, I’ll continue,” she said.

The content creator has been regularly uploading videos showing how she sometimes waits for long periods for buses before eventually resorting to other forms of transportation in order to get to work.

Her posts have generated widespread discussions on social media about the availability of buses in the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit network and the commuting difficulties many residents face daily.

Ella also disclosed that she had received threats from some individuals urging her to stop sharing the videos. Despite this, she maintained that she would keep documenting the situation if the buses become scarce again.
