Nigerian singer and rapper, Vector, has shared a heartwarming story about the impact of his hit song “Early Momo” on someone’s life.
In an interview on “The Honest Bunch” podcast, Vector revealed that he received a message from a psychiatric home stating that the song helped someone overcome depression.
Vector emphasized the importance of music having a positive impact on people’s lives, beyond just chart success.
“I can tell when people are going through a tough time because certain records come up on streams,” he said.
“And that is what music should really be. It should be spread across in such a way that whatever people are going through, they find the music to fit that purpose.”
The rapper highlighted the significance of conscious music, citing another song, “Mercy,” which he believes resonates with people during difficult times. Vector’s experience demonstrates the power of music to touch lives and bring hope.
“‘Now, how do you say that is not successful because that’s not the chart? I released Early Momo and I got a message from a psychiatric home that said it helped somebody that was depressed… That’s a successful moment in somebody else’s life that I didn’t even intend to. So, success has different definitions,” Vector said, underscoring the value of music’s impact on individuals.
