Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, on Wednesday disclosed how her embarrassed mother,Mrs Jedidah Akinsola, was when she wore a strapless gown to church for her 60 birthday service.
Simi called out her mum while reacting to the video of a Nigerian mum cautioning her daughter against wearing revealing dress.
In an Instagram post shared by the singer, the alleged mother could be heard warning her daughter, Bolu, a US-based Nigerian who was coming into the country for a function, not to wear an outfit that reveals too much skin.
Reacting to the video, the ‘Duduke’ singer said that its funny how many Nigerian mums always want their daughters to turn up in modest wears to find good husbands, not knowing that is actually the sense of attraction for most men.
She said; “Tell me you have a Nigerian mom without telling me you have a Nigerian mom. Many Nigerian mommies said their daughter should not wear this type so they can “find good husband”…come to find out these “good husbands” like open body cloth. Be like “baby I like this one that show cleavage. Mommy in the mud.
“Reminds me of when I went to my mum’s 60th birthday service with strapless dress that year.
“Kasala really box that day. I will not be surprised if she still hasn’t forgiven me. She said some people in church said later she will be telling others not to wear anyhow cloth. I say she too should leave other people’s children alone. Last last she sef gas started wear mini gown once once.”
