Nollywood actress and reality TV star, Annie Macaulay, has described her two daughters as her only family and emotional backbone, following the breakdown of her marriage to Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba.
Annie, who recently separated from 2Baba, shared this sentiment during the Headies Awards ceremony held in Lagos State on Sunday.
When asked by a journalist about
her family, she responded that her children, Isabella and Olivia, are her true support system.
Speaking in pidgin English, she said, “You mean my children? My children dey Kampe. The first one dey Yankee, she dey go school. No play with that girl o. I don’t play with my kids. Na them be my backbone.”
While on stage at the same event, Annie appeared to make a subtle dig at her estranged husband when she introduced herself, saying, “My name is Annie Idi—oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!”
Meanwhile, 2Baba has reportedly reunited with his mother, Rose Idibia, after a concerning period earlier in the year when he was declared missing.
In February, the Idibia family filed a petition with the Department of State Services after the singer was reported missing on February 10. At the time, it was said that he had left home in lounge wear and had not returned or made contact.
However, a recent video has surfaced showing a joyful reunion between 2Baba and his mother, along with other family members. His new partner, Natasha Osawaru, was also seen in the video, suggesting that tensions within the family may have eased.
