Nigerian singer Abiodun Sholanke, popularly known as Klever Jay, has shared a defining moment in his music career—his first international performance.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, the Koni Koni Love crooner described the experience as one that changed his life.

“Every time I go out to entertain my fans is a good time for me. But one of the happiest days was when this job gave me the opportunity to board an international flight for the first time. That local Agege boy flying out of the country to perform for the first time was a great feeling,” he said.

When asked whether he had ever felt discouraged enough to consider quitting music, the singer firmly dismissed the idea.

“I have never thought about quitting music. It is everything to me. I’m where I am today because of music and God’s grace. Each time I reflect on where I’m coming from, where I am, and where I’m still headed, quitting never crosses my mind. Music keeps me going.”

Klever Jay also spoke about the role of social media in shaping today’s music industry, particularly for independent artists trying to break through.

He highlighted the transformation it has brought to music promotion.

“Social media has helped a lot, not just in music promotion but in many areas of entertainment and business. It’s what the world is enjoying now, and we have to join the trend. It eases the stress of physically taking your content around. We used to carry CDs to radio and TV stations; and even travel interstate for music promotion. Now, people can hear your music on social media and download it. Not every artiste has the means to push their music with big money. Social media is their only hope until they can do more,” he explained.
