The ongoing trial of gospel artist Timilehin Ajayi, accused of murdering National Youth Service Corps member Salome Adaidu, saw a dramatic moment in court as the defendant broke into a fervent prayer session during proceedings.

Ajayi is facing charges related to the brutal killing of Adaidu, who had visited him at his residence in New Karshi, Nasarawa State, on January 12, 2025.

He is accused of dismembering her body following an alleged altercation.

Investigators allege that Ajayi was caught while attempting to dispose of her remains.

Reports further indicate that he confessed to the crime, claiming he acted out of anger over suspected infidelity.

The graphic details of the case have sparked public outrage, with many expressing shock at both the nature of the alleged crime and Ajayi’s behaviour during earlier stages of the investigation, where he reportedly showed no signs of remorse.

As court sessions continue, members of Adaidu’s family remain vocal in their call for justice, mourning the loss of a young woman whose life was ended in what they describe as a senseless and horrifying act.

The trial is still in progress, with the court yet to issue a final judgment.
