A teenage house maid on Friday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly killing her boss’s five-year-old son, Chikaso Amazu.
NAN reports that the accused strangled the young boy with a leather belt before stabbing him with a curtain rod on his private part.
The house help was brought before the court on a charge for murder but her plea was not taken.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ipaye-Nwachukwu ordered that the accused be taken to Girl’s Correctional Home in Idi Araba.
Inspector Chinalu Uwadione had told the court that the accused committed the offence around 6.30 pm on March 10, at Plot 702, Road 255, Abule-Ado, Festac. He said the deceased boy was placed under her care.
The offences contravened Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The case has been adjourned to April 18 pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP’s).
