Usman Shehu, son of late popular Sokoto politician, Alhaji Shehu Bakauye, has been brutally killed by unknown persons, the State Police Command has confirmed.
Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr El-Mustapha Sani said that the remains of the victim popularly known as ‘Manu’ had been taken to the Specialist Hospital,Sokoto, for postmortem examination.
The police revealed that Manu’s corpse was discovered in the early hours of Saturday, at the Kwanberu Area of Sokoto.
Sanni assured the deceased’s family that the police will get to the root of the matter and bring the killers to book.
“The police will do everything humanly possible to unravel the mystery behind the murder of the orphan,” he said.
While expressing shock at the murder, guardian of the deceased, Alhaji Ahmad Shehu, said the family was greatly pained by the brutal killing of the late politician’s son, adding that all the family want is justice and the fleeing killers of our son should be apprehended and brought to book.
”We will continue to pray fervently for the repose of his soul and for the Almighty Allah to expose the perpetrators,” Ahmad Shehu said.
