A Nigerian diplomat was found dead on Thursday at his home in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
Reuters reports that security sources in the country confirmed the incident.
The security sources said the diplomat was apparently murdered and that an investigation was underway.
Reports on social media suggest that the killers used a knife to attack him.
Meanwhile, Dubai-based al-Arabiya television identified the diplomat as the consul general and described his death as an “assassination.”
