Senator Ned Nwoko has spoken in favour of polygamy, asserting that having multiple wives provides balance and stability in a man’s life.

The lawmaker representing Delta North made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Nwoko, who is married to four women, expressed sympathy for men with only one wife, comparing their situation to standing on one leg.

He said: “Yes, all men should do that. For instance, just imagine standing on one foot or leg. You know how difficult it is. But to stand on 2, 3 or 4 is more balanced. So, I feel sorry for those who have one wife ‘cos it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”

Nwoko’s comments follow reports of alleged tension in his household after his youngest wife, actress Regina Daniels, unveiled a new mansion.

The senator also dismissed rumours of domestic violence involving Daniels, calling the claims unfounded.

“I am not a violent person. I respect my wives and love them and my kids,” he stated.

Nwoko reaffirmed that he has no regrets about his marital choices, emphasising that his relationships are built on love and mutual respect for his wives and children.
