Popular actor and social activist Debo Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has criticised the All Progressives Congress over what he described as hypocrisy and entrenched corruption within the ruling party.

His reaction follows the recent presidential pardon granted to 175 inmates, including individuals reportedly convicted of drug-related offences.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Mr Macaroni condemned the action and accused APC leaders of engaging in practices they once strongly opposed.

He referenced a 2013 post by Segun Dada—now Special Assistant to the President on Social Media—who had previously criticised similar decisions under past administrations.

In the old tweet, Dada had written: “Civil society organizations should be on the streets by now protesting the presidential pardon offered to criminals.”

Reposting the tweet, Mr Macaroni called out the apparent contradiction in Dada’s current position and that of the APC leadership, saying those who once denounced such actions now defend them openly.

“Every evil that the APC once condemned, they now practice and support. APC is a party filled with the most corrupt people surrounded by the worst sycophants. A marriage of doom and misfortune! Tueh Kelebe!” he wrote.

Mr Macaroni’s remarks have since stirred reactions across social media, sparking renewed debate over the rationale and transparency behind the presidential pardon process, especially concerning individuals convicted of serious crimes.
