Nigerian music star Mr Eazi and actress Temi Otedola have had their wedding featured in Vogue magazine after celebrating across three continents.

The couple tied the knot in Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland in a series of ceremonies that blended high fashion with rich Nigerian tradition.

Their journey began on May 9 in Monaco, a date that holds meaning for Mr Eazi as it was his late mother’s birthday. Temi described the civil wedding as calm and intimate, saying, “We’ve been engaged for three years and together for eight, so we had this weirdly calm energy all day. It just made sense. Just the two of us, in Monaco, a place we partly call home, and no distractions, no fanfare.”

Two months later, they held their Yoruba traditional wedding in Dubai at the Otedola family home. Temi wore outfits by Zac Posen, Miss Sohee, Lisa Folawiyo, and Oscar de la Renta, while Mr Eazi appeared in a custom Lisa Folawiyo Studio look, accompanied by drummers. As her husband’s song “Skintight” played, Temi walked in with a gele and custom Zac Posen gown.

The bride explained that the moment was deeply moving. “I think we both were in the headspace of it being a day to celebrate our families and culture, but the realization of how profound it was set in as soon as we both walked out,” she said. When she called Mr Eazi “my oko,” meaning husband in Yoruba, the groom admitted he almost shed tears.

The reception in Dubai saw over 2,000 lanterns and chandeliers hanging inside a grand tent, while guests enjoyed Nigerian dishes such as pounded yam, egusi, and snail. Temi later changed into an aso oke ensemble by Miss Sohee, while Eazi matched her in agbada by Baba Jagne. They also honored Eazi’s Igbo heritage with outfits by Lisa Folawiyo and Mazelle, before ending the night in an after-party styled as a shisha lounge.

In August, the couple hosted their white wedding in Iceland, a country Temi described as “our favorite place on earth.” At the Hallgrímskirkja Church in Reykjavík, Temi walked down the aisle in a Fendi Haute Couture gown, while her father, Femi Otedola, gave her away. Mr Eazi wore Saint Laurent.

The reception was set inside a glass tent surrounded by Icelandic fields, decorated with moss, volcanic stone, waterfalls, and fog. The groom surprised his bride by bringing in John Legend to perform.

The celebrations ended with an arctic beach party at Hvammsvik hot spring, where guests enjoyed music, geothermal pools, and Icelandic street food. Temi described the entire experience as unique. “Eazi and I have always been unconventional. All throughout we honored our rich culture but made sure everything felt like us.”

The wedding’s feature on Vogue places the Otedola-Eazi union among high-profile global weddings covered by the magazine.

Also few Nigerian weddings have made it to vogue. Davido and Chioma’s lavish Miami wedding earlier this year was featured for blending Nigerian traditions with a luxury celebration attended by over 1,500 guests.

The first Nigerian wedding featured on Vogue was that of Lisa-Leigh Aladekomo and Tomiwa Aladekomo in 2016, which included a large traditional ceremony with thousands of guests and a white wedding.
