Nigerian Afrobeats star and businessman, Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known as Mr Eazi, has revealed his plan to run for the presidency of an African country in the future.
The ‘Skin Tight’ hitmaker made the announcement in a video shared on Snapchat, saying he has been thinking about the idea for some time.
“I have been thinking about it. I think it’s time to share it with you guys,” he said. “Some of you might be from some country, specifically in Africa, and you are looking for a president; a president who is not looking for money and power but forward-thinking, young, active, and can move your country better. So, I’m officially putting myself forward for the presidency.”
Mr Eazi, who recently married Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, did not specify which country he plans to contest in.
Although he is Nigerian by birth, the singer has strong ties to Ghana, where he studied and began his music career. He has often said Ghana shaped his sound, which he describes as Banku music.
In recent times, several Nigerian entertainers have expressed interest in politics. Actress Eniola Badmus announced plans in April 2025 to run for a senatorial seat, while former Senator Ben Bruce once predicted that Davido could become the Governor of Osun State someday.
