A motorist has crushed to death two elderly women, believed to be beggars, in Kubwa, the Federal Capital Territory [FCT].
WuzupNigeria gathered that the incident happened in an area where people with physical disabilities or the elderly converge to beg.
A witness, Habibu Sulaiman, said the motorist, driving a Canter truck, arrived the area from the Kubwa Modern Market axis and while negotiating a junction where the beggars congregated, ran over them.
Sulaiman said two women died on the spot, while the third one was taken to the Kubwa General Hospital.
The deceased women were said to have been buried on the same day, which was last Saturday, while the injured person who was taken to the hospital, was discharged.
The DPO of Kubwa, CSP Bello Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, added that the motorist was initially put in custody before he was released following a demand made by the families of the deceased women.
