Motorcycle snatchers attack Usmanu Danfodiyo University student, hack off his hands

A student of the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto State lost his two hands to motorcycle snatchers who attacked him on Sunday morning.

WuzupNaija gathered that  Habibu Abubakar Nakasari, who is a 200 Level English Language student at the university, was attacked around Manna area of Sokoto South Local Government Area.

Nakasari’s attackers were said to have made away with the motorcycle after they hacked off his two hands

He is currently receiving treatment at the Orthopaedic Hospital, Wamakko, Sokoto State.

Aminu Abdullahi Abubakar, the Director of Press to Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya, said the government has vowed to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the attack.

Abubakar, who represented the Deputy Governor during a visit to the victim, said:

“The governor mandated me to come and visit you and your family to assure you that all hands are on deck to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators according to the law.

“This barbaric behaviour is unbecoming among the youths and our government will not condone such act, as this will be the last to be seen in the state, God willing.”

The Deputy Governor further disclosed that Governor Aminu Tambuwal has directed the full settlements of all medical bills of the victim by the state government.

It may be recalled that a few weeks ago, one Abdullahi Shehu, in a similar situation was allegedly attacked by political thugs who cut off one of his arms in Sokoto metropolis.

Shehu was later flown to Abuja where doctors battled in vain to attach his severed arm.
