Monster truck crash kills two, injures 37 at Colombian exhibition

At least two people have lost their lives and 37 others sustained injuries after a monster truck rammed into a crowd during an exhibition event in the southern Colombian city of Popayán, located in the Cauca province.

Eyewitness videos circulating on social media appeared to show the oversized vehicle successfully clearing a stunt obstacle before failing to slow down in time.

It then reportedly veered off course and crashed into spectators gathered at the event.

Meanwhile,Reuters was unable to independently verify the authenticity of the footage.

However, a city official in Popayán was quoted by Colombian newspaper El Espectador as confirming that one of the victims was a 10-year-old girl.

Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident, while emergency responders treated the injured at the scene.
