Adura, the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police.
His friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, also known as King White, was taken into custody alongside him on Wednesday at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos.
According to the PUNCH, the arrest reportedly occurred after a legal proceeding related to a phone Adura had sold to one Damola Ayinde.
Earlier this year, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, had clashed with actor Yomi Fabiyi over allegations against Adura.
Fabiyi had filed a petition in December 2024, claiming that Adura demanded ₦3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for video evidence allegedly linked to Mohbad’s death.
However, Adura denied the allegation, stating that the chat originated from Ayinde, who had purchased his phone.
Following a forensic investigation, the case remains under legal review.
Reacting to the arrest, Mohbad’s mother appeared in a viral video pleading for help, alleging that Fabiyi and one Sam Jojo were behind her son’s detention.
“Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him to. He did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him, he is sick,” she cried in Yoruba.
Adura had previously demanded a public apology from Fabiyi and others, accusing them of hacking his TikTok account to damage his reputation.
He also filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against them for defamation and tampering with evidence.
A family member, who spoke anonymously, said the arrest may have been linked to an argument between Koleosho and Fabiyi.
“We don’t know Adura’s whereabouts, but I can confirm that his friend, Koleosho, was arrested after the court proceedings today. Everything happened so suddenly. We heard he had an exchange of words with Fabiyi over the phone issue, which may have led to his arrest,” the source said.
Attempts to contact Fabiyi were unsuccessful, as he neither picked up calls nor responded to messages.
A police source confirmed that Adura and Koleosho were arrested by operatives from Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, Lagos.
However, efforts to reach the zonal police spokesperson, Ayuba Umma, for further details were unsuccessful.
