Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has cried out over serious threats to her life and safety following her public call for justice in the case of late singer Mohbad.

In a detailed statement shared on her Instagram page, the actress said she has faced growing intimidation, violent threats, and online attacks since she began pushing for a proper investigation into Mohbad’s death last year. She said her life, business, and children have not been safe, despite all her efforts being lawful and peaceful.

“I have recently found coffins with my name on them, videos openly threatening my life and property, and a disturbing letter sent to my office warning that I would go through hell in the next three months,” she wrote.

She added that a few days before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, the threat letter arrived, warning her of coming danger. According to her, these threats have continued, with no protection or action from the authorities.

Iyabo explained that she only made a live video asking certain people to come forward for questioning after Mohbad’s death, not to accuse anyone. Her NGO, Pinkies Foundation, also wrote to government officials, calling for an independent investigation and a coroner’s inquest.

“I never accused anyone of killing Mohbad,” she wrote. “I only called for justice through legal means and used my platform to speak for the voiceless.”

She said she has met with police authorities and lawmakers to press for a proper investigation, including former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The actress also claimed that because of her political views during the last elections, some people have continued to attack her online and offline.

“My office was recently destroyed by fire. I am still dealing with the emotional impact,” she said.

Despite all this, Iyabo said she remains ready to honour any further police invitations, as she has always done, and thanked those who have supported her through the difficult period.

“I just want time to tend to my health and wellbeing,” she said, adding that her only offence was standing for truth and justice.
