Ministerial Screening: Aregbesola gave me his full salary to contest election in 2012 – Senator Abbo [Video]
The lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Senator Elisha Abbo, on Monday recounted how the former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, gave him his full one month salary to support his chairmanship election campaign in Adamawa state in 2012.
The Senator, who gained national prominence after allegedly assaulting a woman at a sex toy shop in Abuja, said the former governor made the donation without knowing him.
Abbo stated this while the former governor appeared before the Senate for his screening as a ministerial nominee on Monday.

He said:
“I remember in 2012 when I contested for the chairmanship of my local government in Adamawa state.
“I came to your house in Ikeja and you never knew me, and I told you my problem, then you told me to come to government house in Osogbo
“I came to visit you at the government house and thought I would stay for long, but you called me in and attended to me.
You gave me the whole of your salary for that month to go to Adamawa and contest election, today, through the grace of God, I am one of the people confirming your appointment.”
