Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama has taken to social media to applaud her mother, Marian Lois Robinson.

Michelle Obama noted that while growing up, her mom taught her never to be afraid to speak up and ask questions.

She stressed that her mother laid the blueprint for how she is now raising her own daughters.

The former First Lady said,  “Growing up, my mom taught me and Craig to never be afraid to speak up, ask questions, and live our truths. She laid out the blueprint for how I’ve raised my own girls. Mom, you’re my rock and my best friend, and you’ve been a guiding light throughout my life.”
