Tension as strayed cow kills two-month-old baby in Delta
There was panic at Ebrumede community in Effurun area of Delta State, on Monday, when a fleeing cow reportedly knocked and crushed killed a two-month-old baby.
Sources reported that the cow was being escorted by two herdsmen to a buyer when it strayed off the DSC Expressway by Ebrumede Magistrate Court near the DSC Roundabout and attacked the victim and her mother who were standing by the side of the road.
While the mother was said to have sustained serious injuries, the baby died on the spot.
DAILY POST reported that the herdsmen reportedly fled for the scene over the fear of a reprisal attack from aggrieved residents and indigenes of the community.
When contacted, Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report.
He said, “It is confirmed. Only one baby died,” he said.
