FG should declare bandits federal civil servants, Shehu Sani urges

Published

Senator Shehu Sani took a slight dig at the Nigerian government on Monday by urging them to declare bandits as federal civil servants.

Sani who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District made the remark as the government turned deaf ears to calls for bandits to be declared terrorists.

The former senator’s comments came after some suspected bandits killed two persons and abducted scores, during a recent attack on the Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a post on his verified Twitter handle, Sani lamented the inhumane killing of Christian and Muslim worshippers in their religious houses by bandits.

He tweeted, “They [bandits] killed Muslim worshipers in their mosques in Niger and Katsina State; they killed Christians in their Churches in Kaduna State; if the Government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.”

Recall that in a previous post in the wake of the attack, Sani had described the incident as tragic and unfortunate.

He said, “Yesterday’s attacks on the Baptist Church Kakau Daji, Kaduna State by terrorists, the killing of some worshippers and the abductions of scores of others is tragic and unfortunate. The suspension of the telecom services in the North is useless.”
