Sharia court remands suspected thieves who stabbed Kano resident with scissors
Two men, Abdulhadi Usman, and Muslim Ibrahim, were on Wednesday arraigned in a Kano Sharia Court, for allegedly intimidating a man.
The defendants who live at Sani Mainage Quarters are facing three charges of criminal intimidation, theft and being in possession of dangerous weapons.
The prosecutor, Insp. Abdul Wada, told the court that one Yusuf Musa of Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters reported the matter at the Gwale police station on March 25.
He alleged that on the same day at 10.30 p.m., the defendants attacked Musa (the complainant), with scissors and threatened to take his life.
Wada said as a result, Musa sustained injuries, lost his Gionee phone and the sum of N7, 000.
He told the court that when the defendants were arrested, a pair of scissors and exhibits were found on them.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 120, 133, 158 and 201 of the Penal Code.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Judge, Dr. Bello Khalid, ordered the remand of the defendants in a correctional centre.
Khalid adjourned the matter until April 26 for mention.
