At least 10 persons, including policemen, were killed when gunmen invaded Isu and Onicha Igboeze communities in the Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Two Policemen were reportedly killed in Isu while others were killed in Onicha Igboeze, the same local government area.

Two lawyers who were said to be in transit, were among the victims killed by the gunmen, Daily Trust reports.

After killing them, the gunmen were said to have left with the vehicle belonging to the lawyers, while they set their own Lexus Jeep vehicle ablaze.

Before the incident, about seven travellers were burnt alive along with the vehicle they were travelling in.

The tragic incident reportedly happened on Onicha Igboeze road.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah, and the consultant on Internal Security, Stanley Emeragha, confirmed the incident.
