Police have shut down Ramon Adedoyin's Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Osun State, following the death of Timothy Adegoke, who was studying for a master’s degree at Obafemi Awolowo University.

According to The PUNCH, a guard at the hotel on Thursday said that “the closure is caused by the ongoing case.”

Mr Adedoyin, who is also the founder of Oduduwa University, is currently in the custody of the police following his arrest on November 15. Six other suspects were arrested in connection with the case.

Osun police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola said the police are awaiting autopsy.

She said, “Adedoyin was arrested on 15th November, 2021. He is currently in police detention, undergoing interrogation in connection with the case, while awaiting the autopsy report from the hospital.

“The state police command is committed to ensure justice is done; no matter the personality of the person(s) involved in the case or how highly or lowly placed in the society; if found culpable.”

Mr Adegoke went missing after he got to OAU distance learning centre, Moro campus to sit for an examination.

WuzupNigeria reported that Adegoke had lodged in Hilton Hotel between October 22 and November 5, 2021, before he went missing.

His exams were scheduled for November 6 and 7.

He was reported missing at Edun Abon Police Station, before his case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation on November 9, 2021.
