The date for the Royal Wedding of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, and Princess Firdauz Abdullahi of the Ado Bayero dynasty has been announced.

According to The PUNCH who cited the invitation to the ceremony, Oluwo’s wedding to his soon-to-be new wife will hold on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the residence of the Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters, Kano.

However, the monarch will not be physically present for the wedding in Kano, according to his spokesman, Alli Ibrahim, who confirmed the ‘Royal Wedding’.

According to Ibrahim, Oba Akanbi might not be in Kano for the wedding because of his position as a paramount ruler,

He said, “Baba is not likely to be there (in Kano) as a paramount ruler. They will bring the wife to him in Iwo. There is no cause for alarm.”

Recall that WuzupNigeria in February cited a controversial letter emanating from the palace of the monarch where he allegedly solicited the sum of N20million from the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, to marry the princess from the Kano Emirate.

However, the monarch who had in 2019 divorced his estranged wife, Chanel Chin, with whom he shares a son named Oduduwa, denied sending the letter.
