New tenants reportedly kidnap three children in Ogun

The suspects who are at large were said to have claimed that they rented the apartment for three weeks in order to complete their examinations.

At least three children have been abducted by two women in a building at Ajuwon, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State on Friday evening.

The suspects were said to have moved into an apartment in the building at Itsekiri street in the Ajuwon axis less than four days before abducting the children.

DailyPost reported that the suspects claimed to be students of an unnamed school in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

The suspects who are at large were said to have claimed that they rented the apartment for three weeks in order to complete their examinations.

Confirming the incident, the Police Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi said, “It is a case of child stealing. The perpetrators disguised themselves as new tenants. They rented an apartment, moved in and they have stayed there for about one week.

“As part of their tactics, they became friendly with the old tenants’ kids, but the parents didn’t sense any danger.

“Suddenly, they pounced on three kids and took them away. The incident happened on Friday.

“No arrest has been made. We are still investigating the matter.”
