Man reportedly stabs cousin to death in Rivers
A man, identified only as Gabriel is currently on the run after allegedly stabbing his cousin to death during an argument in the Duburo community, in the Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The PUNCH reports that Gabriel and the deceased named Kopapa Neete were involved in an argument bordering on family issues before the unfortunate incident occured.
The Chairman, Duburo Community Development Committee, Vincent Gbosi, confirmed the incident.
He told the publication that the Bori Police Station has been alerted on the issue.
“We are using this opportunity to call on the Rivers State Government to look into the insecurity in the community, investigate and prosecute the young man who committed this crime,” Gbosi stated.
Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, were unsuccessful as he had yet to respond to calls and text messages sent to his mobile number regarding the incident.
