At least four people are feared dead after a tanker reportedly transporting kerosene exploded at the Kubwa Village Market in Abuja.
An unconfirmed report on Twitter claimed that the explosion has killed four persons.
According to a user identified as @OmoGbajaBiamila, “Fire service truck and officials arriving at the scene of the kerosene fire explosion at the Kubwa Village Market in Abuja.”
“Four confirmed dead,” the user tweeted alongside a video of a fire service truck spotted around the scene of the incident.
Confirming the report, the Federal Fire Service Emergency unit, Area 10, Garki- Abuja, told WuzupNigeria that the explosion happened on Friday night.
“It happened about 40 minutes ago,” an unnamed fire service official said as of 9:42 pm.
“I don’t know, I’m not at the scene. All I know is that our men are there, they’ve not called back to tell us if they are done or there are casualties at the scene of the incident.”
