JUST IN: Panic as gas explodes in Lagos

Residents of the Baruwa axis of the Ayobo Ipaja area of Lagos State have been thrown into panic following a gas explosion that occurred less than 24 hours before Christmas.

The PUNCH reported that the incident happened around 1 am on Friday – Christmas eve.

Confirming the report, the Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development, Mrs Bola Shobowale, said, “It is true. It happened around 1 am.”

When asked about the number of casualties, she replied, “I am not in a position to state that. But the explosion is true.”
