Tension grips the Boripe local government area of Osun State on Tuesday after one person was reportedly killed during an armed robbery.
Tribune reports that the robbers attacked a Wema Bank branch located at Iragbiji, around 3.00 pm, shooting indiscriminately to scare people.
Scores of customers caught in the banking hall during the robbery were said to have sustained injuries, according to a witness.
Armed with sophisticated weapons including AK-47 rifles, charms, cutlasses the robbers reportedly used explosives to break the door of the bank.
Having witnessed the incident, Adebisi Adedokun said that the corpse of the victim has been taken to an undisclosed hospital while those injured are receiving medical treatment.
A police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the incident which was corroborated by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Daniel Adigun confirmed the incident.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Yemisi Opalola, has been unreachable for comments as of press time.
