#MeToo! Mixed reactions trail Bill Cosby’s guilty verdict for sexual assault
American stand-up comedian and actor, William Henry Cosby Jr, popularly known as Bill Cosby, was convicted Thursday of sexual assault by a US jury, which found him guilty of drugging and molesting a university employee 14 years ago in the first celebrity trial of the #MeToo era.
The jury found Cosby guilty on all three counts on Thursday afternoon, drawing an emotional reaction from his accusers. Cosby remains free on bail until sentencing.
However, Twitter users have aired their opinion over Cosby’s predicament. Some opined that he deserved what he got and others faulted the court for being partial.
Some also asked that the same judgement is meted out at notable American public figures who had also molested or sexually abused women.
See some tweets:
Now that Bill Cosby has been found guilty on all charges — I’m reminded of a tweet that was as flippant, condescending and disrespectful as it gets to women who’ve suffered sexual abuse, violence and harassment.

Look at how long it took and how many victims had to come forward before Bill Cosby was finally found guilty. It’s no surprise that we have a serial sexual predator sitting comfortably in the Oval Office.

? for all the Bill Cosby guilty verdict supporters who are using this as the pinnacle of the #Metoo movement: A Black woman was choked & stripped naked by a group of white cops on video last week. Are you going to see that these men are prosecuted too? Or will u keep ignoring it? pic.twitter.com/iNQmAonG6q

GUILT, GUILTY, GUILTY@BillCosby
The drugging and raping of 50+ women results in you dying in jail where you belong.
The Cosby family is not deserving of empathy as for in exchange for a lifestyle, you chose to forego your dignity by turning your cheek/blinds eye to a monster.

It’ll be fascinating to watch all the Black men currently absolving Nas of abusing Kelis b/c he was never tried or found guilty (after years of doing the same to absolve dudes like Nate Parker), now move the goal post all the way across the field for Bill Cosby.

With Bill Cosby found guilty of his crimes, keep in mind that, as of this date, no criminal charges have been brought against Harvey Weinstein.

Bill Cosby found guilty and out on bail. Any other mere mortal would have had his bail revoked and gone straight to prison. Different justice if you’re rich and famous.

So satisfied Bill Cosby is finally found guilty. I’m happy three of his victims finally get justice. This puts Weinstein and Spacey on notice.
