Afrobeat superstar, Olufemi Anikulapo Kuti, popularly known as Femi Kuti, has released his 10 studio album titled ‘One People One World.’
The album is a message of hope to the younger generation.
The Cable reports that Kuti and his band, Positive Force, recorded a chunk of the album in Lagos.
Yesterday the Afrobeat icon had posted a video to announce the release of the upcoming album to fans on his on his Instagram page.
The album is aimed at instigating social change. In a recent post-Femi had lamented on the sufferings and pain prevalent in the world. He wrote in part,
“There’s too much suffering and pain in the world, wars are having a destructive effect on our planet too. I believe it is the duty of everyone especially world leaders to move urgently too quell the hate and bring about the much-needed love and peace…”
Chocolate City Group, his management company, says Kuti will kick off a series of live performances of the album on Sunday at the New Afrika Shrine, Lagos.
Kuti is also expected to embark on a ‘One People One World’ tour.
