Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have announced the birth of their second child, describing the newborn as a “precious gift” from God.
The couple shared the news on Instagram on Friday, thanking God for what they called another testimony of His goodness.
“The Lord has done it again! He has added to our joy… multiplied our laughter… and blessed us with the precious gift of a second baby,” their joint post read. “We declare: His name will be lifted in our lineage forever. Generations from us will walk in His light. Through us, many will be blessed, and the nations will call us blessed. To the glory of God… Welcome, our precious gift.”
Mercy also celebrated her husband in a separate note, calling him “an amazing father of two.” She wrote, “Oh my love, an amazing father of TWO! The Lord has indeed been good to us.”
Mercy and Pastor Blessed got married in August 2022. They welcomed their first child in October 2023.
Following the announcement, fans and fellow gospel artistes flooded their social media pages with congratulatory messages and prayers for the growing family.
