Actress Mercy Aigbe has sparked reactions online after joking about preparing for grandmotherhood during a visit to the family of Lateef Adedimeji and Adebimpe Oyebade following the birth of their triplets.
The Nollywood star, alongside her husband Kazim Adeoti, paid a courtesy visit to the couple and shared moments from the outing in a video uploaded to her Instagram page.
In the clip, Aigbe was seen dancing with Mo Bimpe and presenting gifts to the new parents while celebrating the arrival of the babies.
The actress also carried one of the triplets and humorously spoke about getting ready for future grandmother responsibilities.
“Practising for future grandma duties already,” she says.
Reacting in the comment section, one of her followers, Maisonbukonla, referenced Aigbe’s daughter, writing, “Michelle, grandma is ready.”
The comment comes months after the actress opened up about conversations surrounding her daughter Michelle’s future wedding plans. Aigbe had revealed that her daughter preferred a simple wedding instead of an elaborate ceremony, prompting her to seek opinions from fans and fellow mothers online.
At the premiere of My Mother Is A Witch, Aigbe also shared an emotional experience involving Michelle’s childhood, recounting how her daughter was traumatised after she accidentally hit a bucket on her head. The actress said she later apologised and advised parents to communicate more openly with their children.
During Michelle’s graduation in 2023, Aigbe celebrated her daughter’s achievements, praised her qualities and assured her of continued support.
